Suppose you were able to pay off all of your debts. We all know how that would free us from the bondage of having to work every day. But have you stopped to think about what you could do if you were out of debt? Here are five activities that you could take part in because of your lack of indebtedness.
- 1. Build up your reserves. This has to do with all of your accounts, not just your emergency fund. But, once your debts have all been paid off, you will want to make sure that your cash reserves increase steadily, and your retirement and investment funds swell, both from injections of your own money and the growth of the investment vehicles into which you placed your cash.
- 2. Pay cash for a major purchase. Once your debts are all paid off, you will own your house free and clear. If you desire to live in another house, the sales of your own house will provide the necessary cash with which you can purchase another. You also can purchase a car, pay for a college education for your children or grandchildren or even have enough money that, if some unforeseen medical emergency arises, you can pay off in full.
- 3. Take a vacation. Have you ever wanted to visit another country? Now would be the time to make that a reality. Being able to finance the entire trip from cash reserves allows you to not only enjoy the vacation to its fullest, but also rest in knowing that you do not have to return home to the bondage of debt.
- 4. Find a dream career. Once your debts are paid off, you can go into a career that you always wanted without the worries of the pay scale to which you would be moving. This means that if your dream job pays less than you are currently making, then it will not be the overriding consideration when it comes time to choose this path.
- 5. Donate your time and money to a worthy cause or organization. There are many, many wonderful not-for-profit organizations around that world that would appreciate the efforts and money from one who wants to donate. The opportunities are all around and most do not require any special training. Most organizations are crying out for help. Any little thing you can do would be appreciated.
These are the things you can do when living a completely deft-free lifestyle. Think about them and dream about making them a reality for you today.
