If you’ve ever suffered financial difficulties or are new to the world of credit then you’re going to be limited in the amount of cards that you apply for. This doesn’t mean that there aren’t any cards for you and it certainly doesn’t mean that you can’t improve your credit rating and become eligible for better deals in the future. Improving your credit score might be an uphill struggle but it isn’t an impossible task. If you can demonstrate over a sustained period that you’re a responsible borrower then credit companies will look upon in a more favourable light.
Only taking out credit when you need it, not when you want it, is one of the most important things you should remember. Unnecessary transactions made on a whim will only serve to rack up debt that you can’t afford to pay back and therefore plunge you into further trouble.
Paying your bills on time is crucial as every utility bill or rent payment is noted and counts towards your overall credit profile. Ensuring you are prompt with any cost of living payments will help drag your rating from the depths of despair.
The fastest way to boost your score is by paying off any outstanding debt on other cards. By cancelling out any revolving debt you could improve your credit score by 20 points over a two month period.
So what are the best options if you’re credit score is looking a little worse for wear?

Another way to build credit up fast is if you have someone you can trust, you can have them ad you to a good rated credit account as a co-applicant and their good payment history should bring your score up significantly. You can also try your local credit union and inquire about a secured credit card as well.
Hope this helps
