Each week you are wasting money that could easily be saved. If you save $25 each week, that amounts to $100 each
month and $1,200 each year. Save $50 and you are up to $2,400 each year!
Saving an extra $25 or more each week to put towards savings or even a vacation isn’t hard to do when you follow these simple ideas. Pick a couple to stick with and watch the money you’re saving start adding up.
The easiest way to save money each week is to start taking your lunch to work. A lunch from a fast food restaurant costs on average $5.50 each day. Bringing your lunch with you costs on average $2 and sometimes even less – not including the price of gas you save by not driving around on your lunch hour. Doing this each workday will save you at least $17.50 each week.
If you drink coffee and don’t own a coffee maker – buy one. This is a very small investment that will save you thousands of dollars in the long run. When you buy coffee a couple times each day instead of making it yourself, you are wasting anywhere from a few dollars to over $10 every day! This adds up big over time.
Instead of drinking bottled water, buy a water purifier and drink out of a glass or a stainless steel water bottle. You will save lots of money and help the environment along the way.
Use coupons when you go to the grocery store. Cut them out of the coupon section in your newspaper or go online to websites such as CouponSurfer.com, CouponMom.com, CoolSavings.com and many others. Using coupons can save you 25 cents to over $10 on certain products.
Start buying either value brand or store brand foods to save anywhere from 50 cents to over $5 on each product. For even more grocery savings, go to discount food stores such as ALDI which sells a gallon of milk for under $1.50 in most places and loaves of bread for under $1. Their fresh foods are also great bargains and just as good as the regular grocery stores.
Cut back on joy riding around in your car. Make those trips count and don’t waste your gas. The price of gas isn’t cheap anymore so only going places you need to go and driving smart is another easy way to save anywhere from $5 to over $20 or more each week.
