We all want financial freedom. Even if we don’t call it that, we all want to live the best lifestyle possible. Usually it’s the dream of the mansion, the cars, the vacation (in some way, shape or form). Whatever it is, when it comes down to it, its really about freedom. We all want freedom from the day after day grind. However, how do we get there? That is the question. Part of the equation is (high level), creating income, because income or cash flow is very important to grow your wealth and net worth.
The other important piece of the equation is frugality. Some view frugality as a negative, but this is an incorrect thought process. It may not be “cool” to save your money day after day as you slave away working, but once that savings turns into millions of dollars (compound interest) it will be kind of cool! So, as always don’t listen to the haters, and keep saving! Anyways, to cut to the chase, here are our top 5 blogs (other than the #1 Finetunedfinances.com;) on frugality so you can save and save and save.
We’ll give you a sneak peak of theses websites, but check out the links to their websites for more detail!! (We don’t want to give away all of their secrets.)
1) And Then We Saved: http://andthenwesaved.com/fearless
This blog has now become a book subscription that is certainly worth the investment. In the authors E-Book “The Fearless Minimalist” they interview several experts in the budgeting and personal finance industry. This includes names such as Joshua Millburn, Joshua Becker, and Courtney Carver. Overall, when reading this book, you will get a personal experience perspective on what it is like to save until you become financially free. This is a book definitely worth the investment, as their blog had developed an excellent reputation!
2) 100 Dollars A Month http://www.onehundreddollarsamonth.com
This blog has it all, with a focus on reducing spending for the modern frugal family. The author, Mavis, discusses her love for growing vegetables and fruits in her own backyard, which has helped her save thousands of dollars per year on groceries. Her blog contains general advice on saving money, frugal food recipes, gardening tips, daily deals for saving, and crafting advice.
3) Budgeting In The Fun Stuff http://www.budgetinginthefunstuff.com
This blog, started by Crystal Stemberger posts articles focused on the authors experiences related to personal finance. She also has a section that teaches others how to start their own personal finance blog, and a recommendations section of products she has used and enjoys! Crystal also has a section for those new to her blog, which I recommend checking out for her full background including her life before and after blogging, as its very interesting.
4) Money Crashers http://www.moneycrashers.com
This blog is very general, as opposed to some of the niche blogs you’ll see out there. There are sections on money management, credit and debt, investing, College and Education, Real Estate, Small Business, Family and Home, Lifestyle, and even Economics/Politics. Although this blog strays away from personal finance now and then, it contains a lot of valuable information and definetly remains at the top of my list.
5) WiseBread http://www.wisebread.com
WiseBread is a historical personal finance blog, that also has a focus on career advice and even has a systematic top list of personal finance blogs (where they are number 3!…great marketing). Seriously, their “frugal living” section is filled with articles on hundreds of different topics, all of which truly provide valuable advice that you can take action on day after day. They also offer a best deals section of approved products that are discounted which they update consistently so keep checking in!
