It seems almost sure that Donald Trump will be the official Republican nominee for president of the U.S. in the November elections. Not all Republicans, however, are supportive of Trump and are even considering voting for Biden if any of the independents do not seem like the right fit. We take a look at 19 reasons why Trump does not have the support of some Republicans;
Trump Is Not a Real Conservative

Some Republicans are not supportive of MAGA’s actions and want a return to the days of being civil and law-abiding. They are concerned about how divisive and controversial Trump’s actions are and are calling for him to adhere to the Constitution rather than cause chaos.
Criminal Cases

Trump currently faces four criminal cases against him, totaling 91 felony charges. With the likelihood that Trump could be charged before the November elections, there are a significant number of Republicans who say they cannot vote for someone who has a criminal record.
Sexual Misconduct

Many Republicans say they cannot vote for Trump in the next election due to his history of sexual misconduct. While some people believe Trump’s actions to be “locker room banter” or a fabrication from the opposition, many cannot dismiss claims like that of journalist E. Jean Carroll and Alva Johnson, who accuse Trump of unwanted sexual advances.
January 6th

The January 6 insurrection and the subsequent charges brought against Trump are too much for many Republicans to consider voting for Trump in the upcoming elections. GOP voters are worried about supporting a candidate who can try to subvert democracy by lying about his involvement on this fateful day.
Attitude Towards Veterans

The attacks on Senator John McCain by Trump during his 2016 campaign have been widely condemned, as has his continued mocking of veterans. Trump has gone on record as calling some veterans “suckers” and questioning their motives for fighting. Service personnel and their families, along with many Republican voters, cannot bring themselves to support Trump due to his outrageous comments about veterans.
RFK Jr.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is the biggest independent challenge to Trump as many of Trump’s previous donors were sending Kennedy’s money. According to Politico, Kennedy’s views on the environment, vaccines, and gun laws are encouraging voters to turn away from Trump and choose him as the alternative to Biden.
Abortion Laws

Trump played a significant part in overturning Roe v. Wade in 2022 and looks set to continue to support pro-life judges. However, Trump is said to believe a federal abortion ban is not required and has aimed criticism at GOP members who want a six-week ban. Some hardline voters do not believe that any circumstance warrants abortion and will, therefore, not be voting for Trump.
Ukraine

Trump does not have a clear plan for the war against Russia, despite his promise to stop the “endless flow of American treasure to Ukraine.” With 46% of Republicans who will not be backing Trump wanting to continue aid to Ukraine, it is difficult to see these voters swaying towards the former president.
Installation of Loyalists

According to Reuters, Trump has detailed his plans to install a bench of loyalists across all government agencies. It is believed that up to 20,000 potential MAGA appointees will be installed if Trump is elected, much to the dismay of many Republicans.
Military Withdrawals

Trump has gone on record to say he wanted to withdraw U.S. troops from military bases in South Korea, Somalia, and Germany. If he was to secure a second term, he could continue to fight for military withdrawals. These views go against some GOP voters who want a robust military presence worldwide.
Climate Change

Trump has always had strong opinions on climate change, rejecting calls for drastic changes and saying that people are exaggerating the rise in global warming. Trump’s climate agenda includes increasing the use of fossil fuels and limiting climate action, which does not align with many GOP voters.
Violations of Foreign Emoluments Clause

The House Oversight Committee discovered $7 million in payments from foreign governments that were paid into Trump’s businesses during his time as president. While Trump defended the payments as being voluntary, some Republicans believe this a violation of the Constitution’s foreign emoluments clause and, therefore, Trump cannot be trusted.
Electability Concerns

There is concern from many Republicans about the overall confidence of Trump and his closest candidates. Republicans are losing the popular vote, and there is fear that Trump will do nothing to improve their chance of beating Biden in November.
Potential Violence

Many Republicans fear that a second Trump will lead to violence across the country, given his past. The threat of incoherence and a clash of ideologies could lead to the country experiencing a severe decline, a prospect some Republicans are trying to avoid.
Leaving Nato

The United States remains a member of NATO, and no official announcements or actions indicate its intention to leave. Trump, however, has long said that he wants the U.S. to leave NATO, with loyalists backing him in his view.
Civil War Comments

Trump controversially claimed when he spoke to an audience in Iowa that the American Civil War could have been negotiated. The comments outraged the GOP, and now they are worried about what else Trump will come out with if he is successful in his quest for a second term.
GOP Staying at Home

With many Republicans torn about who to vote for, there is a risk that they will stay at home rather than vote for controversial Trump. Voter confidence is low on both sides, which means that unfortunately for some GOP voters, Trump may have a good chance of winning if people don’t come out for Biden.
The Handling of the Pandemic

It is safe to say that many people do not believe that Trump handled the pandemic very well. From the reluctance to enforce lockdown, encouraging people to drink bleach, and making controversial comments about vaccines, many Republicans don’t believe Trump has the health of Americans at heart.
Bullying

From calling people names to mocking disabled people at his rallies, Donald Trump has often been accused of being a bully. With a reputation of not being a charming man, many Republicans feel he is tarnishing their reputation and believe he is not their president.
